QUILT OF DREAMS
For children, St. Patrick's Day is a magical day filled with leprechauns and rainbows. Showcase you family's dreams with a "Quilt of Dreams." Find or purchase a plain baby blanket (ivory, white, green or yellow) and pre-wash.
Talk to each family member about a special dream they have (learning how to ride horses, making the basketball team, or taking a vacation to the beach). Go to the local fabric store and find fabrics that relate to each of their dreams
(i.e. sea shells for the beach vacation) or cut pictures out of magazines that you can heat-transfer onto plain white fabric. Cut each dream design into the shape of a shamrock and embroider them onto the quilt.
Decorative buttons or trims that relate to a theme (sea shells, horses, basketballs) could also be used to embellish plain or textured fabrics. This is a wonderful way to share your dreams with each other and create a keepsake to be treasured forever.
THE GREAT GREEN GALA
Start with breakfast and make the entire day green. Have green scrambled eggs with green juice, or green pancakes with green syrup. For lunch, make green sandwiches with green Jell-O or pudding, green grapes and green milk.
Prepare an all green dinner with green mashed potatoes, or rice along with some green soup or pasta. Get creative and make sure that the entire day is green! Your festive dinner will only be served to those who are dressed appropriately,
head to toe, all in green! Each year the outfits your family or friends dream up will get more outrageous. Soon, this will become one of your favorite holiday activities. Don't forget to snap your annual photo, all dressed in green,
to include in your St. Patrick's Day Tradition Book.

As St. Patrick's Day rolls around, we often find ourselves talking about luck and the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The truth is, life isn't about luck. On occasion, yes, lucky things happen to people.
But for the most part, those people we call "lucky" are simply successful because they spend their lives dreaming, working hard, listening and learning, taking chances, and believing in what others say is "impossible."
In other words, they create their own "good luck."
This is a great time to start a family tradition that incorporates the importance of dreams and how they help us accomplish what you want in life.
Use the "Book of Dreams" on St. Patrick's Day and make it an annual tradition to record your family's hopes and dreams.
